Recce started out as a 14″ Syncro Caravelle, converted for use as a fire support vehicle, moving firefighters and equipment to the scene of the action in March, Bavaria. When he was decommissioned he was sold at auction for conversion to civilian use. Looking a little sad with its white bumpers, mirrors and a hole where the wires ran through the roof for the lights, Recce went off to the Czech Republic for some serious reconstructive surgery…
The roof came off and a shocking beige 1980s Westfalia interior went in. All in all a pretty good job was done but blimey, brown is very dull and dated.
